"I had this when I was a teen, and I always seemed to find the right answer somewhere in this book. Now, some of Carol's advice is a little corny...and has a very "old school" feel to it. But I think overall, the messages she gives still speaks to youth today. I remember when I was going through a rough patch with my family, and Carol's advice came to the rescue. Then there was a rough patch with my friends, and Carol had some wise things to share. Then there was the boy I liked who wasn't always nice to me...Carol had some honest things to say about that too! I liked how it felt like Carol was speaking directly to me.
On a side note...my brother came across this book, and I caught him reading through it a few times. I think he was curious about what all goes on inside a girl's head."

- I had this when I was a teen, and I always seemed to find the right answer somewhere in this book.
I think he was curious about what all goes on inside a girl's head. - Carol Weston is every parent's dream -- she's a smart, funny, and very sensible writer who knows just what questions are bothering girls today (including my daughters) and answers those questions in a frank, informative manner. She knows how to talk to her readers, and she knows what ground to cover. I couldn't endorse this book more heartily.
- Private and Personal is a fabulous resource for girls as they face the various situations inherent in anyone's pre-teen life. Featuring a wide selection of questions from girls of all ages, expressing every concern imaginable, this book provides all the answers without ever seeming preachy or condescending. Weston's advice is full of humorous one-liners as well as true compassion, making Private and Personal a wonderful book both to read straight through and to keep on hand for wise and sympathetic reference whenever a question comes up.
- The book is set up as questions from readers and answers from Carol. Many of the questions were questions I have. The answers were well-thought-out and helpful. They helped me to understand things I was too embarrassed to ask my Mom, and I definitely recommend this book to any teenager.
- I found Private and Personal, by Carol Weston, to be a very lively, engaging book for girls. It offers sensible advice to questions that a lot of girls would not feel comfortable asking anyone else. I would definitely recommend this book to any girls who need a good humored, solid voice of reason in their lives.
