Yes, I enjoyed reading this book very much. It is not a big book and it can be read in half of a day.
It is well written and I would recommend it highly.
One of the best books I have read in a long time. It keeps your attention. I didn't want to put it down and when I finished, I wish that there was more to read. Takes you right there and you feel like you are right beside her writing and feeling what she is feeling.
Ann Rinaldo is at her best keeping the ambiguity in this event. Somehow the plot twist at the end works.
As an eighth grader teacher, I love reading Ann Rinaldi's books and I encourage my students to read them also. This one fell short of my expectations. Perhaps because, as the Internet states, no one is really certain why Nat Turner rebelled, Rinaldi did not put as many facts into the book as she normally does. It was not one of her better books.
Even tho I was forced to read it I enjoyed it. At some point I was bored but it would pick up and it would get interesting
